Vue complainers are pissing me off

I have seen so many posts about people complaining about the mileage of the
new SUV they bought compared to their car.

    example:
"I have a 2003 4 cyl. FWD VTi VUE with 5400 miles on it. It is averaging
    19.8
mpg, mostly local driving. Peak milage was 20.8 mpg. However, my '93 SW-2
does a hell of a lot better (25.8) over the same course. This really sucks.
    Anyone else having this problem?"

    It's a truck you knob!
If your chief concern was gas milage why did you get an SUV.
Are you towing that much that you needed an SUV?
Those who got AWD, that leads to lower gas mileage, did you really need
    that?
How many people who get an SUV really need them?

I saw a bumper sticker on an SUV in Wisconsin
"Poverty is when your way of life makes another suffer"
And it was on an oversized SUV with brush guards on the front, which are
outlawed in many countries because if you hit a pedestrian you do a lot more
damage that with a bumper. So this person, who has two kids and never
intends to drive through the brush thinks it looks neat to have a device
that is more likely to kill on the front and then wants to say how much
better a person she is because she does not believe in abortion. I met her,
    what a git.

And before the 2% of you respond telling me how you really do use you SUV
and it is necessary, think about the other people who buy it as a personal
'tank' and admit the majority of the people with gas guzzling SUVs really
    don't need them.

If ONE more brain dead urban yuppie complains about the mileage of his
souped up SUV compared to his previous car I am going to track him down and
beat her with their 'leather wrapped' steering wheel.

  4. Frankly, anyone who buys an SUV then moans about the mileage should just
be wacked over the head severely until they get the point.

SUVs aren't designed for mileage, they're designed for penis
enhancement. Get a car if you want practicality and mileage.

Oh yeah, and nobody needs 4WD or AWD in most of the country. FWD cars
seldom get stuck in the snow if driven by someone with 1/2 a brain, as
opposed to the brainless idiots out there in most vehicles.

RWD, that's another story - my neighbor up the block can't ever get his
BMW more than 1/2way up the hill. It's pretty sad that a $50,000 car
can't do what my old '87 Chevy Wagon did with ease. Naturally, he
'needed' to get an X5 to cope with the 'large amount' of snow we get
    here on Long Island, NY...

Remember, everthing your car does well, a BMW does brilliantly, provided
it's 70 degrees, sunny, and dry out...

Well, the small SUV's could get 30+ MPG if the car makers would offer them
with a diesel option. Look at the RAV4 in the UK, Ford Ranger or Chrysler
mini vans with diesel options. Or the up coming 2005 Jeep Liberty with a
    diesel.
They can get better mileage, but they are not built for that in the USA.

you hit the nail right on the head in your message.
i can personally attest about your comments in regards to BMW.
as to SUV's, i don't understand their popularity.

I find it very interesting that some people are given the innate ability to
determine what other people 'need' when referring to their automobiles.
Rather than having an intelligent discussion about the merits of each side
of the issue, notice how quickly people are called a dumbass, or 'knob'.

You know, without even knowing about it, these guys have just solved most
all the automotive problems that exist in this country. HOORAY!! Everybody
should be driving a Honda Civic. Small and great gas mileage. Two door
model, of course. Who really needs four doors anyway? What a relief this
will be to the marketing departments at Detroit's automakers. No need to
offer a variety of types of vehicles!

I purchased the Vue with two purposes in mind:

    1. My line of sight is no longer in-line with a pair of head lights.

    2. The additional fuel cost is well worth knowing I'm annoying the hell out
    of some 'S--t Bird'.
