My 2000 SL1 needs air vacuumed from the power steering after installing a new rack and pinion and two new power steering hoses, The problem is I purchased a new OEM tools power steering bleeder kit part number 27311 and it has two rubber cones to push into the power steering pump but the pump has two square indentations for the cap on the inside of the pump and the cone does not seal properly because of those two indentations to create a vacuum.

Not sure if this might work. Mentions something about two tab design GM power steering reservoirs. I think these GM adapters do not seal against the inside of the opening, they seem to seal against the face of the opening. There are no gaskets or threads. Apparently you press it against the reservoir and pull enough of the vacuum that it stays on itself. It's a two-person job. There may be a screw on adapter.

Worst comes to worst, buy a replacement brand new cap drill it out in the center and put in a port to connect to. Just make sure it is properly sealed.

The one in the screenshot is $30. The identical from advance is $82. Get the part number off the screenshot and shop around. Please stop back and let us know how you addressed this

I have a MVA661 cap and a new power steering pump ordered. If I don't need the pump I can always return it. Thanks and I will let you know.
