Type of Oil for 2008 2.4L Vue

Discussion in 'Saturn VUE' started by Hang_Traitor_Democrats, May 4, 2008.

  1. I have not had a chance to read my daughter's Vue manual yet since she
is always out driving her new Vue. Can anyone tell me the type of oil
    the 2.4L uses?

    Thanks!

    Mobil 1 IIRC.

I suggest conventional oil changes at the folling OD marks
    500/3000/6000/9000*
You can switch to synthetic at 9k if you choose.
In my vehicles I use Pureone oil filters and Mobil 1 oil.
I change my oil and filter every 4000 miles or every year.
    Whichever comes first.

  3. Thanks, but is it 5W30 or something else?

  4. She brought the Vue over today and got a chance to check. It is 5W30 the
same as the SL1. She likes to keep a quart in her vehicle in case she
needs to add oil. We already had a new quart from the old SL1.

    5W30.

Fortunately the engine has an oil life monitoring system, so you can
    avoid unnecessary oil changes.

Remember, Saturn requires only API certified oil, so be careful about
some synthetics that can't pass the API certification (some of the
Amsoil products have levels of ZDDP that exceed the API limits and thus
    can't be certified).

Man, lots of speculation goin' on here, lol. It is indeed 5W 30 as printed
on the filler cap and Mobil1 is not necessary, use regular oil.
