Tonight I found some drops of red fluid, (transaxle fluid). under the car.
    It is a 2000 LW300.

The manual says that in this case, take it to a dealer and have it checked.
But it doesn't tell how to check the level. I would like to know how far it
is down before I drive to the dealer, in case it should be replenished
first. Anyone know how to check? Kirk... you out there? I found the cap
above the transaxle but no markings or measurer to go by.

The car has 34k on it and just had the valve update on it by the TSB that
was issued for hard shifting a month ago.

    Will appreciate your responses!

  2. There's a plug in the side of the transmission, looks like it's near where
the passenger's side driveshaft enters. With the transmission fluid warm and
the engine running, you have to remove this plug, and check that the fluid
is level with the bottom of the hole. If not, you add fluid until it starts
    draining out of the hole.
