Starter won't turn over

The starter isn't bad , I just can't get it to turn over. The instrument panel lights up , but the car does nothing. Bought and tried to program a new key switch still nothing. I did have a mouse bite the transmission wires , went to junk yard and got a new plastic plug and cut wires so that I could splice the wires together, only problem with that is some wires are the same color. Need help

My starter and battery are good. No start. Lights, horn, radio, everything except start. Plugged in diagnostic, linking error.

Its frustrating ,i can't seem to find the broken link to my problem. I wished I could figure it out probably a simple fix if I knew.
