    Hi guys,

    I have a 94 SL2. The problem is I think I am having electrical
problems. for some weird reason, the engine will skip a beat
intermentally. Like as if no electricity is going to the spark plugs
(for a split second here and there)? It seems to get worse when it
is wet outside? But then sometime it runs fine. Also I noticed that
there are a lot of wire insulation that seems to be disentegrating
from the automatic transmission electrical connector. I have noticed
that it seems to be wet down there? Is there anything that could
possibly destroy electrial wire insulation? I don't have the money
to can the car yet, i am a college student any advise?

    Thanks.

I'll second the recommendation on plug wires; I had to replace them on '99
SC2 (the shock when I touched one was a dead giveaway). Also, if you see
frayed insulation on signal wires, get some GOOD electrical tape (3m Scotch
Super 33+) and wrap the wires to prevent any ground shorts that could cause
    strange behavior when wet.

  3. Fucking weird I had these problems too. Mine were attributed to a crappy
Napa battery that now rides around with me in my trunk...

Thanks for the response, I will look into all this, this week. BTW
how long does it usually take for someone to change out motor mounts
on their own? Any thing tricky about doing it. My engine is shaking
    the entire car.

  5. The right engine mount on my '93 SL2 has been changed twice. The
first time under warranty. The second time it took me about 10
minutes. I didn't even have to put a jack under the engine. This is
the only mount to fail in 223K miles. It makes a BIG difference.

It's probably just your torque axis mount (TAM), that is on the top
front (passenger side) of the engine.

easy to do, will take about 15 minutes. best way is to put a jack under
the engine to support it, then remove the 5 15mm nuts that hold it on (3
on the timing chain cover, 2 on the frame). install the new one, and
    enjoy the smoother engine.
