Saturn Cooling Fan

  1. I have a 1996 Saturn SL2. The fan motor needs to be replace however the
Chilton Repair manual tells me the remove the mounting bolts on both the
right and left side of the shroud and lift it out. This model has only a
mounting bolt on the left side. The right side has some kind of a slide
mount that looks like you should be able to slide the shroud to the left and
lift it out, however the lower mount keeps the shroud from moving fall enough
to clear the mount. Does anyone out there know what the procedure for
removing this fan from the 1996 SL2? Thanks for the information if you have
    any. Bernie

  2. Forget this information request, I finally found a way to get the fan out. I
ended up sticking a buttur knife into each side of the mount and I was then
able to lift the shroud streight up out of the mount.
