    What is it? As shown in Los Angeles, Saturn will fit its midsized Aura
    sedan with the hybrid drivetrain from the current, and next-
    generation, Vue crossover vehicle. The system is based on a 2.4-liter
    four-cylinder engine with a four-speed automatic transmission. For
    this application, the engine is supplemented by an electric motor/
    generator and engine-management system to allow for electric energy to
    be captured for supplementing the engine; to enable the engine to shut
    down the engine when the car stops and start up quickly when needed;
    and to create electricity from regenerative braking. Climate controls
    allow the driver to select a more fuel-efficient "hybrid" mode for air
    conditioning or a more traditional operation in higher temperatures.

    What is new or notable: The Aura Green Line will be available in
    spring 2007, priced near $23,000.
