Sorry. Earlier post was sent with wrong subject matter.

    Here is my question:

Can the chrome roof rails available on the 06 Vue fit an 04? The dealer
(parts desk) wasnt sure when I asked.

If so, are there aftermarket rails available? The dealers wants $320 for the
chrome rails. The price on the 06 option list is $150 which is acceptable.
    $320 isn't).

I will most likely never use crossbars. I just like the look over the plain
    factory rail-less look.

    Thanks for any info

just fyi the chrome rails on the '06 VUE are part of the chrome "appearance
package" and are not functional, they are just for looks. Saturn in thier
infinite wisdum has decided for whatever reason to not produce cross bars to
reinforce the chrome side railings, ergo the chrome railing are not really
    functional.

I dont know about the chrome bars being retroactive, but the actual
functional roof rack which has all the parts is black and fits all
    model/year VUEs.

    I have them on my 06 -

The story with them I was told is that Saturn decided to make them for looks
and without the cross bars due to customer complaints about the wind noise
with crossbars installed, because of the height the rails/bars are from the
roof to give the accented look. If you want a functional rack, they provide
the black low height as a dealer item. If you notice these the hug the roof
very close and reduces /eliminates the wind noise. Although, why they don't
provide a removable type crossbars for the chrome rails that you can put in
when/if you need them, I don't know. I was told the chrome bars will fit
any year Vue, but they are a factory installed item, and are not available
    from the dealer.
