I have a 97 SL2 that had the timing chain break, I am currently
considering (and starting to) replacing the cylinder head and other
damaged components. I was wondering if it is possible to remove the
cylinder head without removing the engine from the vehicle. I have
started to do so and it was going well until the intake manifold, I am
not entirely sure how to remove it as the bolts are deep in the engine
    facing the firewall.

Yes, it is possible. The intake manifold is bolted to the head (and I
think 1 support bracket to the block), so it comes out with the head.

So i don't need to remove the manifold first?

    Thanks for the help.
