I have purchased a remote starter from Crimestoppers.. I have entered the
TechWeb and they dont have a diagram listing for my car..

    I have
    1991 Saturn SL2 1.9L DOHC

The earliest listing in there is a
    Sedan, Coupe 1992

would this be the same diagram? as mine?

I don't know for certain, but I can offer an educated guess - it should be
the same as far as the ignition and sensor wiring that you'd be tying into.

  3. heheh, just make sure you don't bypass the gearshift interlock. or
clutch one. It's never fun to hit the button and watch your car start
up and drive off, though if you're an onlooker it's quite funny...

OK called the company and they told me it's the same>

    Next question is

When I attach the wires for the remote start do I splice the wires in? or do
    I cut and replace?

    or
    Ummmm.....

If you don't bypass the clutch switch, how is the car going to start without
    you pushing the clutch in?

Considering it's a '91 maybe that is the idea
remote start off a cliff for the insurance.

  8. My '93 isn't that far off - I'm sick of being nickle and dimed to death
by it. I swear, it's the mythical car built so perfectly EVERY part
    fails at the same time...

Apparently, 220,000 miles is it's time, too :/

    I hope you:

    1) received installation instructions
    2) have a set of factory service manuals, or at least a Haynes/Chilton
    manual
    2) have more than half a day

Realistically, this stuff always takes much more time than expected for the
do-it-yourselfer. But I find that that brings a lot of satisfaction with it
    too.
