Ran out of gas, now problem.

Hey all,
Last week my kid ran her '94 SL2/5 speed out of gas.
Naturally, Dad came to the rescue with the gas can and it started up fine.
The problem now is that when letting off the gas/engaging clutch, the RPM
drops below 500
and runs rough for 1-2 seconds then goes back to normal.
I hope it's just crap in the fuel filter but could it be crap in the
injector? Or something else?

Any opinions appreciated.

Could be the computer got out of tune. If changing the fuel filter
doesn't do it, try disconnecting the battery cable for about 5 minutes.
