No Saturns accepted, WHY?

I finally got around to cleaning out the garage of accumulated scrap metal
and junk parts. Rented a U-Haul and went down to the local metal recycler.
At the weigh-in scale, there was a prominent sign that said

    "Attention tow truck drivers
the following vehicles will not be accepted for recycling"

<There was a list of various GM models
but highlighted and in block letters was listed>

    "ALL SATURN VEHICLES"

So now I'm curious. Should have asked at the time but it was busy a heck
there and I just wanted to take care of what I came to do and go.

Is there just not enough metal on the Saturns to make recycling worthwhile?

It's because when they put Saturn parts in the metal mashers, they just pop
back to normal shape again. :)

  3. Not enough parts, period. Most don't cross with any other GM parts, the
plastic body stuff's not really going to be resaleable, and let's face
it, resale on an older Saturn's not great - so imagine what the used
    parts market's like....
