I had to take out the fuse to make the wipers stop. Is this a problem with the motor or something else? If it is the motor, how do i go about fixing it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Hardly any videos on You Tube that can diagnose and repair a 2000 Saturn SC-1 Coupe.

If you can experiment; lift wipers off windshield to prevent dry wiping/scratching, put wiper fuse back in place and see if wipers continue operating when ignition is turned on to either ACC(essory) or ON position. If wipers run, jiggle the wiper switch in all positions, including pulling for one wipe and see if wipers shut off. The wiper switch may be worn out and replaceable.

Wiper insanity is 99.5% due to a failed control module in the wiper motor assembly/transmission. Yes, the stalk can malfunction, But the programming is stored in the wiper module itself. Look up richpin's video on how to remove this and install a new wiper motor transmission in the car. 99% of the effort is getting things lined up so that you can get the damn thing out. Wear gloves.
