I replaced the shoes but I have not so far been able to get the adjuster on the driver side right. It seems that the star wheel is too far to the rear out of reach of the adjuster. I didn't have the trouble on the passenger wheel.
First, I am not clear on whether the adjuster turns the wheel up or down. I am assuming down. It it works on up, that would change things.
Or it might be the strut is not located properly.
Anyway, I have got it together and running but need to revisit armed with knowledge. Any help?

Just did mine. You have to twist the tensioner spring that attaches to the adjuster so the torque forces the adjuster to stay firmly against the adjustment star wheel. A half a turn when connecting it does the trick.
