My '03 Ion is really getting to be a pain, now, there's a thumping noise
from the front end, when i drive over some bumps fast it sounds like
somethings loose,I just had a ball joint replaced last fall,I dont
know if trading it on another-if they'll let me-would be worth it.I'm
sick of going to the dealer for all this non-oil change crap. The
employees take it so casually, like"it can be worked out"I'm going to
talk to a salesman,or someone other than a appointment maker.

I have this same problem. It only happens when I driver over a dip
while turning. Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

I also hear other noises, but they are just too hard to describe to try
and find out what they are.

I am also having the cold start problem. I had the ignition replaced
and I am already having recurring starting problems.

    Yes. Mine too. (clunkity-bump + sqreeka-sqreeka noise over long-travel
    bumps)
They alleged it was busted bushings and replaced both under warranty.
