    I have a 2000 Saturn LS2 142000 miles.
The car runs well for a while and then it suddenly slows down (the gas
pedal is slack and has no response)and comes to a stop. When i try to
restart immediately afterwards it does not.

When i try to restart after about an hour, it does start, runs well for a
    while and then stops again.

    PLEASE HELP

Sounds like an intermittant fuel pump. Bet the problem is worse when the
tank is below 1/2 full ....

  3. Can you hear the fuel pump running ? if so i might think that the fuel
filter is cloged, the filter on mine sets at an angle and if the car sets
for a while the cloging might settle and allow fuel to flow for a bit,
also i dont know if there is a screen in the tank that can clog
