My 99 SL2 makes a gurgling or sloshing noise occasionally, usually under hard
acceleration or when going uphill. The noise sounds like it's coming from
under the dashboard. Coolant level is normal, as is engine temperature. Air
bubble in the heater core, maybe?

Maybe a little hole in a exhaust pipe?

My 97 SL2 does exactly the same thing. When I took it into the dealer
years ago, they did not give me a precise answer, but said that it was
nothing to worry about. I'm just about to click over 200,000 miles,,
and I still hear it occasionally :)
