NTFS is the Nasty Turd File System. No matter how bad Windows gets I
still prefer Linux.

Then why are you posting from a Windows computer?

My career choice dictates it. I am an automation software engineer, and
no one provides Windows equivalent development tools for Linux.

I've yet to figure out what a 'software engineer' is.

In any case, I run Wintendo systems, too. But I always make sure I have my
trusty *nix laptop handy for real work.

A software engineer makes bugs, then debugs. Now you would think the
bugs would be easy to find and fix since we create them ourselves, but
quite the opposite can be true. A machine can run fine a one speed, then
act up when run at a different speed which changes the sequence of events.

I dislike Windows because I was once a network engineer and operations
supervisor for an Ingersoll-Rand company. We had Unix, Netware and
Windows NT (Nasty Turd) servers. The worst of all was the NastyTurd
servers. Since my evaluations were based upon network availability I
bailed out when IR decided to replace all of our Netware servers with
NastyTurd servers. It was a good change as I enjoy programming machines
so much more.

Um, that was a reference to the fact that software is simply text. You
*write* applications, not *architect* them. (This is the same reason you
cannot patent software, but I digress...)

I dislike Windows

You do?
User-Agent: Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 (Windows/20070728)
X-Antivirus: avast! (VPS 071103-0, 11/03/2007), Outbound message

Hmm...could've fooled me....

Windows has a server product? Since when? :P
