For the do it yourselfers just fyi, my local Discount Auto Parts just told
me that they will be soon carrying the oil cartridges for the ecotec /
Saturns. Does anybody know of other places where one can also buy these
cartridges? Also any online places? Thanks.

Where do you live again? Fl?
There are stores all over where I live like Advance Auto Parts and
AutoZone. Usually they use different names or are tied to other chains
in other states. Advance is tied to a bunch of others but I cant
remember any of the names. Whats some of the ones in your area? The two
    I mentioned will ship orders.

    Just got back from Wal-Mart

They have the Fram 9018. That is either the original French filter, or now a
filter that is made in the UK.

They also have their own brand, Super Tech, I believe with a 9018 filter.
This one was made in Indonesia.

So, I was able to get two different (French and British) Fram filters or a
Wal-Mart brand (Super Tech) all for the 2.2 Liter Ecotec engine.

So, it looks as if that filter is becoming widely available.

Great! I live in S. FL, and the local stores are just beginning to stock up.
Gues they are a bit behind the times here, lol.

In Kansas City they are available at Wal-Mart (Fram) and AutoZone as well as
Advanced (Western Auto / Parts America...or whatever it will be called next
    year...)

The prices here are strangely higher at all the other locations than they
are at the dealership! That, to me, is a first!
