Do the "S" series Saturns use the same parts?

    I was wondering, because when I found this web page:

    http://www.car-part.com/

    and on the make/model choice, for the saturns
    that begin with S or L, they lump all the parts
    for Saturns that begin with S or L, together.

    my car is a 1994 Saturn S series.

    For the most part, yes.
    The S series used two engines (same black, diffrent pistons, heads, and
    timing assembly) but it was a 1.9L Inline 4cly. SOHC, or DOHC. So engine,
    any of the same modle, SC1, SW1, SL1 used the same parts, SC2, SW2, and SL2
    used the same parts, body wise, again, mostly the same, SC1, and SC2, SW1
    and SW2,ect...
    The L series came with two diffrent egine, a 2.2L DOHC Inline 4cly, or a
    3.0L DOHC Vee6. so egine mostly diffrent, but again, body, pretty much the
    same.
    S Series Engine Codes:
    1.9L SOHC == L24
    1.9L DOHC == LL0
    For the L Series engine codes, i'm not sure, maybe some one could post
    those.

    hope that helps

    Thank you, that's very helpful. I found a local salvage yard that
    has a bunch of SC2 steering column units, for $75 each. That
    mechanic charged me $475.00.

    Apparently there are no laws about how much of a profit margin a
    mechanic can make on a part, but I'm reporting it to the better
    business bureau.
