I have a 2007 Ion with 115,000 miles. Lately the screen reads "Coolant" intermittently, and it never stays on for very long. My temperature is always within normal range. Midas said I need a new switch/sensor for the coolant tank, but that I couldn't just get the switch, I had to replace the entire tank. Is this a thing? I see that coolant switches are relatively cheap online (less than $20). Is this just a way for them to make more money, or do they not make coolant switches for my year and model? Thanks for your advice.
