I cleaned my throttle body (1999 SL2) and now when I start it up it revs to 4,000 rpm and stays there. I have seen a few references to idle re-learn procedure but nothing specific to my car. I thought maybe the throttle cable was not put back right, but when I disconnected it the problem persisted. Can anybody help?

You forgot to reconnect one of the hoses you removed when removing the air intake ducting. Basically you've created a monstrous vacuum leak. Look around the area in which you were working and you will find either The end of the hose or an open port where the hose should be connected.

Too cold here to go pop my hood
    You'll get it.
