The stereo the previous owner of my car installed stopped working correctly, so I took out that stereo to swap in a new one and while doing so realized what a mess the previous owner made of the wires. I accidentally touched the yellow and orange wires coming from the vehicle wiring harness to a metal piece of the vehicle and I saw a spark. Now my car will not start and stereo will not turn on. I checked every single fuse but am unsure what else to check. Car doesn’t turn over, doesn’t do anything other than make a click noise. Also my key fob is no longer working since this happened as well. Does somebody have an idea of where I should begin?
    Thanks for reading

Check all the fuses that start with IGN.

Pull them out and manually measure them with an ohm meter.

I believe one of the two wires you touched is a 12 volt feed. It's a question of what the yellow wire is. I'm assuming something in the ignition system is not correct. All of the IGN fuses must be good for the vehicle to start, so grab the owner's manual or the directory of fuses under the hood and on the instrument panel junction box, look under the lids and there will be a directory of fuses melted into the plastic. Good luck
