    Hello all!
I am desperate for some answers and hope that you may be able to come to my aid.
Last year I bought a brand new crate engine after being told by a dealership that it was the correct engine/part number for my 2002 Saturn SL1. It is not. After purchasing it from a guy on Facebook, I noticed the heads were different than mine and did some more digging. For whatever reason, the info I needed before the purchase did not come up until after. The engine is a 1999 model.
The engine is a 1999 brand new sealed Saturn SOHC crate engine. The cylinder head in 1999 did not use an air injector reactor pump, so the exhaust manifold is different. I think I can work around that and add a mini catalytic converter and extend the air pump to ING to make that all hook up. Exhaust down pipe is different but I can work with that as well.
What I need to know is if there are any other issues that would keep this engine from functioning properly in my car without out major modification (other than the exhaust).
I also noticed that the knock sensor is a couple inches to one side of center, so I may need to extend those wires. That's easy enough.
I just cannot afford to find out there are other major issues keeping it from working once I start the project.
Again, my car is a 2002 Saturn SL1 with an SOHC engine. I was getting some help on another forum and then all communications stopped. I reached out a couple more times and got no responses to the thread I created.
I attempted to sell the engine, but had no takers, so I figured if I can make it work 100% I might as well do that instead of it just laying around.
Please help! I really don't know where else to go and need to start work on this ASAP before the summer heat gets here.
Thanks so much to any and all of you who mat be able to help me figure this out. I am eternally grateful.
If there is anything else you need to know, please let me know what info you require.
    Thank you,
    Mark
