2003 ION.3 with the auto headlights that stay on after you turn the car off.
The default timing is just about long enough for me to get out of the car,
    and take two steps.

Anyone know how to alter that timing to make it a little (a lot) longer?
Think it's a simple R-C countdown on a relay, or maybe somthing a little
    more complimecated?
    Thanks.

It's controlled by the body control module - a computer.

There is probably a timing loop in the code that determines how long the
lights stay on. You've virtually no hope of changing that unless the dealer
(that is, the manufacturer) makes that available as an option.

    Good luck.

There is a possibility that the timing can be changed through an OBDii tool
that allows writing. So many of the tools that I have seen so far are read
only. The only Write functions on those tools were to reset the DTCs
    (diagnostic trouble codes).
