    1) Rough engine idle or won't idle at all

    2) SES Trouble code

Remove the air intake tube going from the filter housing to the throttle body.
Disconnet the vacuum line at the EGR and remove the two mounting nuts. Remove
all the gasket from mounting surface on engine.
Replace gasket and install new EGR valve.

  3. You can trouble shoot your EGR by diconnecting the vaccum lines and plugging
them, or crimping them. If the engine still runs rough, it could be
    something else.

On my granddaughters 93 SOHC there is a Y shaped bracket that must be
removed before the EGR can be removed. You must take off the two EGR bolts
(the bracket prevents removal of the EGR) , then get under the car and after
removing the fuel line clip, take the bottom bolt off of the bracket.
Remove the bracket, then remove the EGR valve.

Not completely true, if the EGR valve is not seated properly, then the vacuum
    check means nothing.
