2007 saturn vue cranks but no start

my car was running fine till this morning don't know what happen. started up like normal then took off to work and at the light she shut off. started it back up but it was struggling to stay on then off again and now it wont start up at all. I checked to see if the fuel pump started up and it does. I checked for spark but i checked it wrong so am gonna go back out and check it. so my question is if I get spark what else should I be looking for ? I did check all the fuses and there all good.

4 cyl 2.2 liter

never mind guys it was the control module
