I had dinner last night with a couple of friend who own an automoble repair
shop. They suggested I "may" want to dump my VUE prior to the 60k extended
warranty expires due to an ongoing problem with the intake manafold
failing. Has anyone heard of this or were they yanking my chain??

Thanks,
JohnS

I hadn't heard squat about this. I have an '05 V6 at about 38,000 miles.

I looked and couldn't even find a part for an '05 V6.

I just called my friend and he elaborated. They have replaced 4 intake
manafolds on VUE's with the Honda V6 in the last 6 months, and that is a
small shop here in San Diego. All of them had approx 65k miles on them. It
is apparently a plastic manafold of all things, and they either warp or
crack. Who knows, I hope it is BS but I have no idea why he would lie to
me about it.

Far be it from me to defend Honda but I've never heard of this. They may
hide their TSB's but they cant hide from google searches. Even if it was
true how does this 1 thing justify ditching a 3 year old vehicle even if
it cost $1000 dollars to fix it?
