I have a 2003 Ion w/ a 2.2. I had a tune up done and afterwards the car hesitates right before I press the accelerator pedal (in drive or reverse). If I give it gas at the hesitation point it will die, if I wait for it to stop hesitating it's fine.

I'm getting a P0507 code and I replaced the IAC valve. It stopped doing it for a half of a day and the CE light came back on.

I sprayed Carb cleaner around the whole engine compartment to eliminate a vacuum leak. So now I'm stop, if it was a throttle body I would expect it to do it a lot more then just a rolling start.

Any ideas or has anyone came across this issue before?

    Thanks in advance.

PS it does not do it at cold temperature only once it gets to operating temperature.

I have a 2003 ION with the same exact problem.
Did you ever find the cause ?
I am now thinking computer is at fault ECM , because it does it worse as it heats up.....
and like you said , does not do it at cold start up.
