2000 LS2 A/C and blower issues

I'm having two problems that showed up almost simultaneously (the same
day) but doubt that they're related. I was on a trip doing a lot of
driving in the hot weather, so I had the air on, with recirculate, for
extended periods. My wife noticed it first on her side and I noticed
on mine that the carpet (and our shoes) were getting soaked. I imagine
that the recirculate path of the air was creating some condensation
where it might not normally. Is this normal, a known design flaw or is
    something broken?

The other issue, and I will try and be short, is that the blower comes
on and off, basically, when it feels like it. When I start the car,
it's usually not running no matter where the selector switch is.
Sometimes when I shut the door, it will start, but usually it's when I
hit a bump. On top of that, when it comes on it may be on a setting
that's lower than the actual physical switch setting or the force of
air may start out on, say, high and then over the course of time
degrade to a lower setting or stop altogether. The blower is not
making any unusual noise and there are no other known electrical
problems. Jiggling or raking the selector switch has no effect of any
    kind. I realize that it's probably a short/loose connection, I just
don't know where to check for it based on the symptoms. I have the
    shop manuals.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  2. As far as the condensation problem, I would suspect the drain path/hose from
the A/C condenser has gotten clogged up with dirt or mildew and is causing
    the condensate to spill over..
