I need to pass a mandatory annual state safety inspection. The plastic lenses on my headlights are so oxidized it's time to get the headlights replaced. Around 3 years ago I had a detailer buff the headlights yet we all know this is a temporary fix to aged headlights. How difficult is it to replace the lights? At the local Auto Zone they said I need to buy two different headlights, the left and the right. One is a bit more expansive than the other. I didn't understand the why - does anyone know? Is this an easy DIY? When a friend replaced his Toyota RAV4 headlights, the seals must have gotten broken because moisture or rain got into the headlight assembly. And he had to dry out the headlights before he could get his annual safety inspection. While I don't drive often at night, it would be nice to have brighter night lights.
