1997 SL2 problem

My wife drives a 1997 SL2 120k miles and she has noticed a strange
problem..She will be driving down the road..the radio will go off and
come back on..then very soon after..the car will shut off and the
restart..She says all the dash lights come on just as they do when you
start the car ..She says it seems to be under braking that it does
this..so I will be looking for a loose "something"..anyone have any
ideas ?

Just a wild guess: alternator. The cars do funny things when the
alternator is on the fritz. And these alternators go on the fritz a lot.
