    Dear Saturn Owners

I have a 1993 SL2 with 165k miles on it. It has recently developed an
intermittent miss. So far I have replaced the plugs and air filter. The
plug wires were changed about 25k miles ago. Any suggestions on how to
attack this without taking it to the $aturn $ervice department? Thanks for
your collective brain power and suggestions.

Have you read the codes that the PCM may have stored? You can do it
yourself with a paperclip. Instructions are at
    http://www.differentracing.com/tech_articles/index.html
.. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Information, and Diagnostic Trouble Code
Chart for 1st Gen Saturns. Or, people posting here have said you can stop
by any Auto Zone and have them read the codes for no charge.

Otherwise, the diagnostic fee that the dealer charges can often be less than
the cost of parts replaced by guessing.
