    Hi all,

I was told by the Saturn dealer that my 96 SC1 has a bad headgasket
leak. I heard that this was a big problem in the early 90's Saturns.
Has anyone else had this problem. I have only 72,000 miles on the
car and think that is too few for this sort of problem.

Yes, this was a big problem for some model years SOHC engines. My 94
SL1 blew from this problem. What I heard is that there was a known
casting flaw in the cylinder head, and that Saturn had secretly (at
least I hadn't heard about it before) extended the warranty to 6 years
or 100k miles for this specific problem. Unfortunately for me, mine
was at 106k miles and Saturn told me to get lost (btw my new car is
_not_ a Saturn). I hope you have better luck getting them to fix it!
